Five Years after George Floyd Protests – Volume 2 of “The People’s History” Community Launch

We look forward to you joining us on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 2:00 pm for the presentation of our latest research, “Volume 2 – The Peoples History”! We will attempt to answer the most obvious question people may have: what’s changed at the DMPD since the protests of 2020? We intend to talk about the modest reforms that have resulted in Des Moines Policing practices as a result of pressure by the advocacy community, including Just Voices. And of course, we’ll share several individual stories of the people who filed lawsuits and how those lawsuits turned out. The workshop will be held at Franklin Ave. Library, 5000 Franklin Ave., Des Moines, IA. There will be thoughtful dialogue and discourse, current info on the latest DMPD traffic data, and light refreshments, too. There is no cost, but please complete the registration form. If you have any questions, please email us at: [email protected]. Thank you for pre-registering!
